Come See What Makes MSMCS Different
A website can tell you about Mount St. Michael Catholic School. A visit allows you to experience it.
Walk through classrooms where children are deeply engaged in learning. See the progression from Montessori independence to classical thought and expression. Visit the chapel, outdoor classrooms, farm, apiary, gym, athletic fields, and the quiet spaces that make our campus feel removed from the pace and noise of the surrounding city.
Most importantly, see how students and teachers interact. Observe a community in which children are known personally, challenged appropriately, and formed in the truth and love of Christ.
We invite you to visit, ask candid questions, and begin discerning whether MSMCS is the right place for your child and your family.
Tour Overview
What to Expect During Your Visit
Your visit is more than a walk through the building. It is an opportunity for us to learn about your family—and for you to understand who we are.
A member of our admissions team will guide you through the campus, introduce you to our educational approach, and answer your questions about faith, academics, student life, support, tuition, and the admissions process.
Whenever the school calendar permits, your tour may include:
- A look inside the Montessori environments serving toddlers through kindergarten.
- Visits to classical classrooms in the grammar and dialectic years.
- An introduction to our Catholic identity and daily faith life.
- A visit to the chapel and other sacred spaces.
- A walk through the outdoor classrooms and natural areas.
- A look at the farm, agricultural program, and apiary.
- An overview of athletics, the arts, service, clubs, and school traditions.
- A conversation about your child’s strengths, needs, interests, and previous educational experience.
- Time to ask questions about tuition, financial assistance, enrollment, and next steps.
Tours are conversational and personal. We are not interested in delivering a rehearsed sales presentation. We want to help you develop an accurate picture of life at MSMCS so that your family can make a thoughtful decision.
What You Will See
Depending on the time and day of your visit, you may see young children working independently with Montessori materials, elementary students building a rich foundation of knowledge, older students discussing ideas and defending conclusions, classes working outdoors, or the entire school gathering for prayer and worship.
Every school day is different, but the same commitments should be visible throughout the campus:
- Christ at the center of school life.
- Teachers who know their students.
- Purposeful and attentive learning.
- Academic rigor joined with wonder.
- Clear expectations and loving accountability.
- Respect for the dignity and developmental needs of each child.
- A community in which faith, knowledge, virtue, service, and joy belong together.
How Long Should You Plan to Be Here?
Please allow approximately 45-60 minutes for a personalized tour and admissions conversation.
We do not want families to feel rushed. If you have questions about a particular program, multiple children, learning support, or the transition from another educational environment, let us know on the visit form so we can plan accordingly.
Who Should Attend?
Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend the initial visit together whenever possible. This allows everyone involved in the decision to hear the same information, experience the campus, and ask questions directly.
Whether children should attend the first tour may depend on their age and the purpose of the visit. The admissions team will provide guidance when confirming your appointment.
Before You Arrive
You do not need to prepare a formal list of questions, but it may be helpful to consider:
- What do we most want for our child during these formative years?
- What kind of relationship do we want between faith and education?
- How does our child learn best?
- What has helped our child flourish in previous environments?
- Are there academic, developmental, social, or learning needs the school should understand?
- What questions do we have about Montessori or classical education?
- What would help us determine whether MSMCS is the right fit?
Please bring your questions and an honest picture of your child. The purpose of the visit is not for either side to impress the other. It is to begin a thoughtful conversation.
