Every school must ask what a child needs to learn. At Mount St. Michael, we also ask something more fundamental:

At Mount St. Michael, we focus on the whole child, which is why we concentrate on forming habits, cultivating virtue, strengthening character, awakening wonder, and teaching a child to recognize what is true, good, and beautiful.
Our approach is a carefully crafted blend of Montessori, Classical, and Catholic education that recognizes truth, beauty, and goodness in the words as revealed by God. Entering each grade level, the child remains directed toward one purpose: becoming the person God created them to be.
Jesus Christ at the Center
Faith is not simply an addition to the school day or a subject taught in isolation. It is woven into the life of the school, shaping how students learn, how teachers teach, and how the entire community seeks to know, love, and serve God. Through daily Mass, prayer, Scripture, the sacraments, service, study, and the witness of their teachers, students are invited to know Jesus Christ personally and allow that relationship to shape how they learn, choose, serve, and live.
A Montessori Foundation
The formation received in early Montessori classes prepares our students to observe all aspects of God’s creation with manual and intellectual forms of learning. The shelves are lined with age-appropriate manipulatives divided into three main groups: the practical life exercises which are foundational, the sensorial materials which isolate and train the senses, and the academic materials which aid in the pursuit of language development in mathematics and the sciences.
A Classical Education
Building upon the foundation established in Montessori, grades 1-8 continue to work on the manual and intellectual forms of education. Upon completion of their time in Montessori, children begin a rich and rigorous training in our Classical Catholic classrooms. This blend of Classical and Catholic methodologies seeks to allow students to behold the truth, beauty, and goodness of God’s creation. Students are asked to think critically and objectively. Catholic Classical education engages students to discussions to “think with the mind of the Church.”

Some Things Must Be Experienced in Person
The best way to understand Mount St. Michael is to experience it for yourself.
Our website can explain our educational approach. It can describe daily Mass, Montessori learning, classical education, outdoor classrooms, and the formation of courageous virtue.
But it cannot fully capture the joy in the classrooms, the relationships between teachers and students, the sense of peace on campus, or the presence of Christ within the life of the school.
