In the Christian Community of God’s Delight (CCGD), families are called by God into a relationship to help one another grow in holiness and to bring others into a deeper relationship with God through evangelization.
Some would describe CCGD as a “family of families”. The name of the Community comes from Isaiah 62:3-4: “You are to be a crown of splendour in the hand of Yahweh. A princely diadem in the hand of God; no longer are you to be named ‘Forsaken,’ nor your land ‘Abandoned,’ but you shall be called ‘My Delight.’ CCGD developed out of a movement of the Holy Spirit in the Catholic Church called the “Charismatic Renewal” in the late 1960’s. In 1990, CCGD was one of the founding member communities of the Catholic Fraternity of Charismatic Covenant Communities and Fellowships established by Pope John Paul, II. The Fraternity is in relationship with the Holy See through the Pontifical Council of the Laity.
On October 19, 2011 Bishop Farrell, Bishop of Dallas, issued an official Decree of Recognition for The Christian Community of God’s Delight as a Private Association of Diocesan Right and The Christian Community of God’s Delight is in compliance with the Dallas diocesan requirements for Non-Parish Based Organizations.
CCGD has many ministries to serve adults, youth, and children. The Adult Formation ministry focuses on the formation of those seeking a Life in the Spirit and/or membership in CCGD, while the Small Goups keep the membership connected in order to meet individual and family needs. The weekly Gatherings on Sundays at 4pm and the weekly Young Adult meetings on Thursdays at 6pm focus on various areas of continued growth in faith and family relationships. Our youth enjoy participation in the High School Ministry (9th-12th grades), Middle School Ministry (6th, 7th and 8th grades), and Camp Jesus (1st-6th grades).
Members of CCGD qualify for a tuition discount at MSMCS.
